In view of the possible outbreak of the fourth wave of Covid-19 and the cold with possibility of snowfall in the mountainous areas, Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat has instructed the officials concerned of all districts of the division not to approve leave of doctors except in unavoidable circumstances.

As per the order issued by the Kumaon commissioner on Wednesday, the district administrations of Kumaon division have been directed not to approve any leaves of doctors, barring in unavoidable circumstances, during the last few days of the year. He said that the leave of a doctor demanding leave due to unavoidable circumstances would be approved by the health department only after getting a nod from the respective district magistrate. He has also issued instructions to officials and doctors concerned to not leave their respective headquarters without the permission of district magistrates concerned.

Rawat said that tourists from various States have started arriving in tourist places of the division to celebrate the New Year and there are also strong chances of snowfall in mountainous areas. Considering all potential health issues, doctors deployed in government hospitals of Kumaon division need to be ready to tackle any health issues, added the commissioner.
