A 43-year-old man died following a rockfall near Panchpuliya, Karnprayag on Badrinath National Highway on Wednesday. The police said that a local man named Jagdish Singh was riding his motorbike from Karnprayag towards Gauchar near Panchpuliya when his body got hit by a debris due to a sudden rockfall. The man died at the spot as per the police. The police called a team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) with necessary equipment to remove boulders in order to retrieve the body. The SDRF retrieved the body and handed it over to the police. The police said that the body will be handed over to the family after carrying out Panchayatnama and other necessary procedures.
