Man arrested for overseas jobs fraud

The police have nabbed a 30-year old man in Clement Town area for allegedly duping retired army men by promising them jobs overseas as security guards. 

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Janmejaya Khanduri informed that the police caught the accused Sunny Nahar just in time as he was also planning to flee the country with the money. He said that the accused used to mainly target people with army backgrounds as his father was in the army too. “We have recovered 35 passports, nine counterfeit visas for Canada and Dubai, three forged Visa approval letters and some other important documents.

We have frozen both of his bank accounts known to us so far. There are about Rs five lakh in these bank accounts,” stated Khanduri.  He also informed that the accused was also arrested in 2014 along with his brother-in-law for such fraud. He said that the police are aware of eight victims so far and will question the accused about more such victims.

The DIG said that people should not trust anybody blindly who claims to provide jobs abroad and must bring them to the police for verification.
