Lions Club International launches world’s largest e-waste collection campaign

Lions Club International launched the world’s largest e-waste collection campaign ‘Dump and Donate’ in association with Hindustan E-Waste Management Private Limited (HEW), Primus Partners and National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA). In this one-month long campaign, the members of Lions Club International will reach out to various schools, institutions and other mediums to create awareness among the masses about e-waste and its harmful impact on health and environment. Informing about the campaign, the vice president of Lions Clubs AP Singh said that India is hosting the G-20 summit this year and environmental protection and conservation is one of its main agendums. The campaign has started across over 120 cities of the country from Friday and keeping its social commitment at the forefront, Lions Club has designed this campaign in a unique manner, added Singh. Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar also lauded the efforts of Lions Club in discharging its social commitment and responsibility. The CRPF Commandant Rakesh Kumar Singh also said that many do not know how to eliminate e-waste and this awareness campaign will prove to be quite significant for the whole country and for future generations.
