The newly appointed officiating director general of police Abhinav Kumar directed all district in-charges to identify accident prone areas in their respective districts to take effective action accordingly. He also asked them to prepare a special action plan for proper traffic management by establishing proper coordination with the departments and bodies concerned. Kumar stated this in his first meeting held on Friday with the in-charges of all 13 districts in police headquarters. Addressing all officials in the meeting, he said that the department will strongly advocate all the proposals sent to the government for consideration. He asked the officials concerned to keep all data of annual confidential reports (ACRs) and human resource management system (HRMS) of all district in-charges and other personnel online. He also asked the officials to monitor the accused on bail and parole and keep a vigilant eye on their activities. He directed them to invite all jail superintendents to the monthly crime seminar and exchange information with them. Besides this, STF was also asked to regularly monitor the accused on bail and parole from the jails of neighbouring states. Kumar directed all the district in-charges to monitor the portal of the Inter Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS). He also directed to increase proceedings for confiscation of illegally acquired property under the NDPS Act and Gangster Act. He asked the officials to identify accident prone areas in their respective districts and then install road signage and deploy police personnel accordingly. Kumar said to officials that the growth and development of Uttarakhand Police is his main goal and everybody will have to work as a team with a positive attitude and spirit to achieve it. “I am here to provide my complete support and guidance to all officials. It will be among my priorities to ensure that all officers get an opportunity to work in the field. We will further strengthen the financial and administrative rights of our district and batallion in-charges considering the financial and administrative rights of other states and paramilitary forces,” he added.
