Koshyari may file defamation on Rs 15 cr donation charge

In latest news from Doon, the former Uttarakhand chief minister and Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is stated to be contemplating a defamation case to be filed against a Mumbai-based RTI activist for circulating stories on media and social media platforms according to which he when he was the Governor of Maharashtra had taken Rs 15 crore worth of donation from an industrialist Anant Ambani for his educational institution.

Dubbing this allegation as false and malicious, the veteran BJP leader said that he had taken the amount under corporate social responsibility (CSR) from Anant Ambani for a higher secondary educational institution in Nainital being run under the renowned private network of educational institutions Vidya Bharti and neither he nor any of his family had any educational institution and neither he nor any of his family members works in Vidya Bharati-run educational institution in Nainital.

Sources close to Koshyari said that as the allegations have hurt his reputation, he is preparing to move court with defamation case against the RTI activist.
