The Nainital district magistrate Dhiraaj Singh Garbyal has issued an order on Tuesday to establish mobile towers in 25 villages of the district which are still deprived of proper mobile connectivity under the Right of Way (RoW) policy of the central government. He said that all sub divisional magistrates (SDMs) must ensure to allot 2,000 square feet of government land to set up mobile towers in schools and Gram Panchayat buildings in their respective areas as per the instruction of the government.

The DM has also directed the General Manager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to conduct an on-site inspection of the places that would be marked to install mobile towers at the earliest in the 25 villages. The villages selected for tower installation include Bhaduni, Basani, Padampur, Rikholi, Aamtoli and Goriya Dev among others. Garbyal said that most of these villages are situated in remote areas of the district and with the installation of mobile towers, a strong telecom infrastructure will be set up that will help the villagers to get better mobile connectivity besides getting benefits of several welfare schemes of Central and State governments.
