The Indian Railways will start a new train between Lalkuan railway station in Uttarakhand and Amritsar junction. The Railway ministry has given its approval to the proposal of the new train service. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the approval of the train service.
He said that the new train will be beneficial to the people of the State. The CM had written a letter to the Railways minister Vaishnaw on December 2, 2023 in which he had requested that a train service should be started between Amritsar and Kathgodam. The Railway ministry has written a letter to the Uttarakhand CM in which the information about its approval for the new train service was given.
