India & Nepal share close relations: Governor

The delegation of Sudurpaschim province of Nepal also met Uttarakhand governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh at Raj Bhawan on Saturday.

Welcoming the delegation, the Governor said that India and Nepal have had close relations for many decades. He talked about joint development in the border districts, helping each other during disasters and promoting religious and cultural tourism. The Governor said that better connectivity, trade partnerships and joint projects between Uttarakhand and Nepal can benefit both sides.

 The chief minister of Sudurpaschim province, Kamal Bahadur Shah said that development of Uttarakhand also inspires the border areas of Nepal. In the meeting, discussions on the possibilities of working in mutual coordination in the border areas to further strengthen the years-old relations between Uttarakhand and Nepal were also held.
