Shopkeepers demand completion of visor construction in Paltan Bazaar by DSCL

Sunday, 27 February 2022 | PNS | Dehradun

The shopkeepers of Paltan Bazaar have demanded that the Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) should first finish the incomplete construction works of visors (Chajjas) in shops of Paltan Bazaar before discussing the issue of the installation of electric boxes. The members of Doon Valley Mahanagar Udyog Vyapar Mandal (DVMUVM) held a meeting on Saturday to discuss the problems caused by works under DSCL. The president of DVMUVM, Pankaj Masson said that all  local shopkeepers are against the installation of electric boxes outside their shops that cover the entrance points to the shops and cause trouble to customers. He said that the shopkeepers want the authorities concerned to first finish the construction work of shops which must be done as per the  approved design of DSCL. They should first construct Chajjas of all shops as one has to suffer even during the light rainfall, said Masson. He said that most of the shopkeepers were always against the commencement of smart city works in the market and as many anticipated, it has certainly caused more trouble to the shopkeepers and customers in the past two years. The authorities should focus on at least one ongoing construction work rather than jumping immediately to the second one before even finishing it. We hope our grievances will be addressed by authorities as promised by the senior officials, added Masson.
