Govt exhorts Rudraprayag, Bageshwar to achieve 100% vaccination soon

1865 doctors, Ayush doctors, ANM, staff nurses & para medical staff to be recruited under NHM- Minister

In view of the better performance of Rudraprayag and Bageshwar districts in the ongoing vaccination drive, the state government has directed the authorities to achieve the target of 100 percent vaccination of these districts as soon as possible.

In a meeting of the National Health Mission (NHM) held at the Vidhan Sabha secretariat on Tuesday the Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the vaccination drive should be expedited. He said Bageshwar and Rudraprayag districts have been asked to achieve 100 percent vaccination as soon as possible so that they create a unique record in the country. In the meeting the minister said that district level conventions of the public representatives should be organised so that awareness about the different schemes of central and state governments concerning health is created.  

Rawat announced that recruitment in 1865 posts of doctors, Ayush doctors, ANM, staff nurses and para medical staff under the NHM would be made. He directed the officials to complete the required department formalities on recruitment on these posts.  He said that health, sanitation and nutrition committees should be set up at village level to strengthen the health infrastructure. It would also help in preparation of schemes at the village level.

The meeting was attended by the health secretary Amit Singh Negi, mission director NHM Sonika, director NHM Dr Saroj Naithani, officer in charge Dr V S Tolia and others.
