The Uttarakhand High Court Bar Association head Dinesh Chandra Singh Rawat has welcomed the tabling of the Uniform Civil Code bill in the Vidhan Sabha. Expressing his views on the UCC, he said that it will ensure the right to equality for women of all religions and classes. All the followers of all religions will also get the benefit of the legal system along with uniform laws.
Rawat further opined that the UCC will hold all sections of society in one garland. In a statement issued to the media, the bar association head said that the steps taken to implement UCC are commendable efforts of the State government to implement on the ground the principles and values of the India constitution, like equality and harmony among all religions. He thanked the Uttarakhand government, especially chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the development.
