Health ATMs to monitor health of pilgrims during Char Dham Yatra

The Health department of Uttarakhand has entered into an agreement with the Hewlett Packard Enterprise for installing 50 health ATMs on the Char Dham Yatra routes in Garhwal region. These ATMs would help in conducting health screening of the pilgrims. The agreement was signed in the presence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the health ATMs would help in providing medical facilities to the pilgrims during the Char Dham Yatra. Terming the setting up of the ATMs on the Yatra route as a good step in the direction of strengthening the health facilities, the CM expressed hope that the Hewlett Packard Enterprises would set up such ATMs on the Manaskhand temples, Baijnath Dham, Kainchi Dham, Poornagiri, Chittai and on Mansarovar Yatra route. He said that the health facilities are being made better on the Char Dham Yatra route so that the Pilgrims do not face any health related problems during the pilgrimage.

 The director of Hewlett Packard enterprises Ankur Mehlotra said that the more than 70 types of health tests can be done by the ATMs being set up by the company. These ATMs would be set up under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) head of the company. The ATMs will also provide telemedicine facilities. He said that the company would provide these facilities 24 hours a day. Mahlotra said that the engineers of the Hewlett Packard Enterprises will monitor the health ATMs for three months after installation.  The company would also provide maintenance contracts for these ATMs for one year.

 The health ATMs would be inaugurated by the CM on April 24.

Secretaries Shailesh Bagauli, R Rajesh Kumar, additional secretary Amandeep Kaur, director general of health services Dr Vinita Shah, director of  health Dr Sunita Tamta, director of medical education Dr Ashutosh Sayana and others were present on the occasion.
