Proto electric bus to arrive this week in Doon

The proto bus for the electric bus facility to be introduced under the Dehradun smarty city project will arrive this week. Chief secretary Om Prakash said that the proto bus should be dedicated to women and operated only for them. He was speaking in the meeting of the high powered steering committee of the Dehradun smart city project here on Wednesday. The CS directed that with special focus on the quality, the project should be completed on time. As part of the smart roads work, the black topping should be done only after the duct work is completed, he said.

On being informed by Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) CEO Ashish Kumar Srivastava that the proto electric bus will arrive this week, the CS directed that it be operated only for women. Expediting the work for operation of electric buses, their operation should be started soon. Apart from development of three government schools in Dehradun into smart schools and progress in the Parade Ground renovation, it was stated that 15 out of 24 water ATMs have been made so far.

The CEO informed that work on the library building is in progress while the foundation work for smart poles and optical fibre cables is also under progress. GPR survey of 53 kilometres has been done for laying the OF cable so far and till now about eight kilometres of the optical fibre has been laid.

Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, secretaries RK Sudhanshu, Shailesh Bagauli and Sowjanya were also among those present in the meeting.
