WECD sends Rs 3,000 each to new beneficiaries of MVY

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister, Rekha Arya has transferred Rs 3,000 to the bank account of each newly marked beneficiary in the third phase of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY). Arya informed that in the first two phases, the department started providing the benefits under the scheme to a total of 1,418 eligible beneficiaries of the State besides providing them with the monetary help of Rs 3,000 each.

In the third phase of MVY, Arya informed that a total of 149 beneficiaries were marked in five districts in which 72 beneficiaries are from Tehri, 48 from Nainital, 20 from Haridwar, eight from Rudraprayag and one from Pithoragarh. Arya said that the department has transferred Rs 3,000 to the bank account of each newly marked beneficiary through the online transaction on Friday. She said that the department has ordered all the district administrations to mark all such beneficiaries who lost their both parents, single parent or a sole earning member of the family to Covid-19 or any other disease in the past two years so that all the needy children can be helped by the government.

She said that the department is bound to take care of beneficiaries by protecting them, their rights and their properties till they turn 21 years old besides providing them with the monthly monetary help. The department has provided monetary help to a total of 1,567 beneficiaries so far, informed Arya.
