Says the state has got no benefit from the double engine govt

The former chief minister Harish Rawat has said that Uttarakhand has failed to receive the benefit of the double engine government. Rawat said that when he left power in 2017, the unemployment rate was 2.5 percent which now is hovering around 7 to 9 percent and some people even put it at 14 percent. He said that the economy of the state was in shambles even before the Covid-19 pandemic. Rawat who had given a party of local fruits and other delicacies at his residence on Friday said that the benefit of the state is directly linked with the promotion of local produce and he during his tenure as CM of the state had focussed on it.  Rawat added that he is happy to see the Kheer of Jhangora had made its entry in the menu of the President’s house parties.

A local citrus fruit, Malta competition was also organised on the occasion in which 29 people participated. By devouring 46 fruits in three minutes Shivaji Tiwari was declared winner among male contestants while Meena Bist was the winner in the female category.
