In latest news from Uttarakhand, the former chief minister and Congress veteran Harish Rawat conducted an on-site inspection of the damaged stretch of the Tanakpur-Sitarganj road near Gola Pul in Haldwani and expressed annoyance over slow pace of the repairing work. Notably, a large part of the road had been washed away in the heavy rain that lashed the area in the last monsoon.
He said that if the road repair work was not completed before the onset of the monsoon season, things might worsen. “If that happens some areas may be totally cut off,” he said, adding that he would take up the matter with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
