Swami Ram Himalayan University (SRHU), Jolly Grant launched “Go Green Campus” campaign in its premises on the occasion of Harela Festival on Monday. The university office bearers said that around 100 saplings of Jamun, Litchi, Amla, Pipal, Haldi, Amaltas, Lagerstroemia, Gulmohar and some other varieties were planted to mark this day.
In his message, the chancellor Vijay Dhasmana said that Harela festival connotes nature worship and environmental conservation, adding that if the environment remains protected the existence of the human race would be ensured. He further said that this
festival inspires the younger generation to connect to its roots and reminds it of the State’s timeless heritage.
