Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh has accused the local administration of biased action and anti-public actions in the name of removing encroachments in the city. Addressing the media on Monday after notices were issued to owners of various buildings, he said that the authorities are eyeing the homes of the general public which has spread an atmosphere of anxiety in the public, most of whom are from the economically weaker section of society. The MLA further alleged that the actions of the administration are encouraging anarchy in the name of maintaining law and order. This cannot be acceptable in any constitutional administrative system, he said. Hridayesh further said that depriving the poor of shelter in the name of the law is not justice, adding that such actions will be strongly opposed. He said that he requests chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to ensure that the notices are withdrawn and that relief is provided to the general public.
