A Goods and Service Tax (GST) team inspected several shops in Ramnagar market and seized goods from a trader for not having a GST number. According to the information received, it was found that the said trader had been doing business without GST for three years now. The GST team confiscated goods from his shop and then also recovered goods from the godown which were reportedly purchased without GST bill.
State GST deputy commissioner Abhay Kumar Pandey said that despite cancellation of registration in GST, the trader continued selling his goods through the cancelled registration number. Penalty will be imposed on the trader after the valuation of the recovered goods.
