U’khand has become favourable destination for industries, says CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Uttarakhand government is trying to reduce the effect of the rain triggered disaster in many parts of the state by providing every possible help to the affected people. Interacting with media persons in New Delhi on Saturday, the CM said that the State is bearing the brunt of a very active monsoon in this season. The excessive rains have resulted in damage to life and property in many areas of the State. He said that houses have collapsed, roads damaged and damage has occurred to the crops. The CM said that the State government has requested the union government for help and a central team has visited the State for assessment of the loss caused by the rain triggered disaster. The CM who is on a three-day visit to the national capital said that he will meet union ministers on the issues related to Uttarakhand in the visit. He said that the State will organise a global investors summit in December. He said that Uttarakhand has become a favourable destination for the investors due its industry friendly policies. The CM said that the industrial, tourism and MSME policies of the State are attracting the investors. He added that the State has incorporated necessary amendments in its hydro and solar power policies. The State has taken an investment target of Rs 2.5 lakh crore from the global investors’ summit. The CM claimed that the State government is planning to ensure that most of the projects come at the stage of grounding before the start of the summit. Dhami said that he will meet representatives of the industry during his visit.

 On being asked about the prospects of BJP candidate Parvati Dass in the Bageshwar by-election, the CM said that there is no contest there and that the BJP candidate will sail through. He said that by-election is being held after the demise of four-time MLA Chandan Ram Dass who was very popular with the people for the service he had rendered to the area. He said that Dass was responsible for developmental works in Bageshwar and the State government has also approved many of his developmental proposals. Dhami said that Parvati Dass is also committed to ensure that the works initiated by her husband get completed.
