Two frauds caught from Patna for stealing from Tehsil account

The Pauri district police nabbed two interstate fraudsters-Patna residents Nihal Sinha and Rohit Raj from Patna in Bihar for fraud amounting to more than Rs 11 lakh from the account of Yamkeshwar Tehsil of the district. The arrested accused committed fraud in the account of the government institution and local bodies using fake cheques and clone cheques in different parts of the country.

According to the information provided by the police, Yamkeshwar Tehsildar Sudha Dobhal lodged a report in the Yamkeshwar police station on November 20 last year. The complaint had stated that some unknown person had committed fraud of Rs 11,17,027 from the government account of Yamkeshwar Tehsil using 13 fake cheques from the different account holders. The police registered a case against the unknown under sections 420/467/471/120-B of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint of Tehsildar.

Taking cognisance of the case the Pauri senior superintendent directed the formation of a team and directed it to crack the case and arrest the accused involved in fraud. The police team on investigation found that the accused withdrew Rs 11,27,027 from  the account of different people of Begusarai,  Lakhisarai and Munger in Bihar using fake cheques. The police found that all the accounts were opened in the (fake) name of Kausal Yadav, Vinod Yadav and Varun Yadav in different places using fake addresses on the basis of fake Aadhaar cards.

The police checked footage of CCTV cameras of ATMs of different places and found that the money had been withdrawn from the accounts in question. Acting on tips off and surveillance the police arrested both the accused from Patna.
