UGB celebrates its foundation day

Uttarakhand Gramin Bank (UGB) celebrated its foundation day on Wednesday with its 288 branches across the State and its regional and head offices having organised programmes to mark the occasion. The commemorative programmes included free vaccination camps , distribution of food and fruits among inmates of old age homes, distribution of bags among students and interaction with its customers, said the UGB officers. They further said that detailed information on the bank’s Utsav Uphaar Scheme launched this festive season was shared with its customers, adding that under this scheme, low-interest loans sans processing charges are being provided to the customers. Speaking on the occasion, the chairperson of UGB Hari Har Patnaik announced that six new branches of the bank would be opened in the current financial year. He urged the people of Uttarakhand to get associated with the bank and take advantage of its commitment to the customers’ interests. Notably, over 19 lakh people are UGB’s customers and its total business is pegged at Rs 10,846 crore.
