Four dead as car falls down mountainside in Tehri

Four persons died when the vehicle they were travelling in fell off the road and down the mountainside on the Kirtinagar-Badiyargadh motor road in Tehri district late on Monday. According to official sources, a car plying from Malgadhi Mall to Malgadhi Talla went out of control and fell about 40 metres down the mountainside. There were four people, including the driver in the car. A State Disaster Response Force team and Tehsil officials reached the site on being informed about the accident and initiated the rescue efforts. The injured were taken to the Shrikot base hospital where the doctors declared all the four dead. The dead have been identified as Darshan Singh (68) from Badiyargadh, Dharm Singh Aswal (70), Karn Singh Panwar (65) and Rajendra Singh Panwar (65) from Malgaddi. It is being reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a sharp curve on the mountain road.
