Focus on protecting students from Covid, Guv to Pvt universities

Governor Baby Rani Maurya has directed the private universities to lay special focus on protecting students from Covid-19. Students aged above 18 years should be encouraged to get vaccinated from May 1. Stating that the students should be motivated to regularly do Yoga, the governor also stressed on observance of the Covid guidelines. The governor said this while chairing a video conference with vice chancellors of private universities regarding Covid-19 on Tuesday.

Maurya directed that public awareness campaigns on protection from Covid should be undertaken in the villages adopted by the private universities. Attempts should be made for 100 per cent vaccination in these villages. Maury also sought information about steps taken by the private universities for protection from Covid-19.

The UPES representative informed that the university was conducting public awareness campaign in about a dozen villages including Bidhauli and Kandoli. The university is also making two ambulances available in public interest. ICFAI university is making one ambulance and one doctor available. The Himgiri university is distributing masks and sanitisers in Sahaspur village in addition to undertaking a public awareness campaign. Information was also shared about efforts being undertaken by IMS, DIT and Graphic Era universities.
