Schools safe, attend without fear; Pandey to students

Minister Arvind Pandey holds live interaction with students, teachers and principals

The education minister of Uttarakhand Arvind Pandey has said that proper arrangements for safety have been taken in the schools and the students should come to the schools without any fear. He made this appeal during a live interaction through the virtual classroom system from the Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidhyalaya on Tuesday. The minister interacted with the principals, teachers and students of class X and XII and discussed the measures adopted in view of the pandemic of the Covid-19. The minister got information about the school timings, furniture, online studies, syllabus and studies from the teachers and officials of the department and asked the students about the problems faced by them. Pandey directed the officials to solve the problems of the students without delay. The education director R K Kunwar, additional education director Garhwal M S Bisht and additional project director Mukul Kumar Sati accompanied the minister during the online interaction. The schools in Uttarakhand opened on Monday after a gap of more than seven months. The schools were opened for the students of classes X and XII in view of their board examinations. The schools were closed in the state on March 14 in Uttarakhand to prevent students from Covid-19 infection.  The education department has issued standard operating procedure (SoP) for opening of schools and appointed the Principals of all the schools as nodal officers.
