Congres leader Indira Hridayesh passes away at Uttarakhand Sadan

Veteran Congress leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Uttarakhand Assembly Indira Hridayesh died of cardiac arrest at Uttarakhand Sadan in Delhi on Sunday. She was 80 years old and was in Delhi for a party meeting.

She was elected to Uttarakhand legislative assembly from Haldwani constituency three times. She was minister of Finance in 2012 to 2017, Parliamentary Affairs, Higher Education, and Planning in Uttarakhand Government under chief minister Harish Rawat.

“Dr. Indira Hridayesh Ji was at the forefront of several community service efforts. She made a mark as an effective legislator and also had rich administrative experience. Saddened by her demise. Condolences to her family and supporters. Om Shanti,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted.
