Char Dham and associated shrines to remain closed during eclipse on Tuesday

The Badrinath temple has been decorated with flowers for the occasion of Deepawali to be celebrated on Monday. Special prayers will be offered to lord Badrinath, goddess Lakshmi and the treasurer of the gods, Kuber on the festival. Apart from this, the Badrinath, Kedarnath and all associated temples will be kept close during the solar eclipse on Tuesday, October 25.

The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee media in-charge Harish Gaur said that as per calculations based on the Panchang (Hindu calendar), the Badrinath, Kedarnath and all other associated temples will be kept closed from 4:26 AM to 5:32 PM on Tuesday during the solar eclipse. All the Char Dham shrines and smaller temples associated with these shrines will remain closed from the morning till evening during the period of the eclipse. After the end of the eclipse, the Badrinath, Kedarnath and other temples will first be cleaned after which the evening Abhishek and night prayers-Arti will be conducted.
