SRHU’s hearing impaired student wins shooting medals

A hearing impaired student of Paramedical Sciences in Swami Rama Himalayan University  (SRHU) Shourya Saini won Gold in 50 meter 3 Position, Gold in 50 meter Prone and Silver in 10 meter Air Rifle Men (Deaf) at the 66th National Shooting Championship 2023. Notably, he had won a Bronze medal at the Deaflympics held in Brazil last year.

Congratulating the student for his achievement in the shooting realm, the Chancellor SRHU, Vijay Dhasmana said that he is a source of inspiration for the youngsters. “He embodies an indomitable spirit to chase a lofty dream,” he said.  In his congratulatory message, the vice-chancellor of the university Rajendra Dobhal said that he would keep up the medal spree in future as well.  

Talking about his achievements, his father S C Saini ascribed his success to hard work and insatiable hunger for medals.  

Asked how he is planning his next set of targets, the young achiever said that his next destination is the National Inter- University Games 2023-24 slated in Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, Delhi.
