Ensure timely completion of works with focus on quality: CM

Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat has directed officials to expedite the execution of works while also laying special focus on the quality of the works. The chief minister said this while chairing a meeting to review execution of the CM’s announcements by the Urban Development and Housing department at the secretariat on Tuesday. He stressed that there should be no compromise with the quality of work. The officials should also ensure that the works are completed within the set time frame. Top priority should be accorded to the execution of works of an important nature from the viewpoint of public facilities.

The chief minister directed that officials to expedite all procedures keeping the coming monsoon in view so that the execution of works can be expedited after the monsoon period. Consistent coordination should be established with the district magistrates to ensure the desired pace of works. Information should be communicated swiftly in case any problem is being faced in execution of the works. The cooperation of public representatives should also be sought for expediting the works. Rawat further directed that senior officials should conduct site inspections of the works, adding that he himself will conduct site inspections of the works from time to time.

The officials informed in the meeting that execution of 125 out of 195 announcements of the chief minister had been completed by the Urban Development department while work is underway on the remaining 70 announcements. Out of these announcements, 26 were made in April 2021. Similarly, execution of work on 36 out of 96 announcements under the Housing department has been completed while work is underway on the remaining announcements. Parking lots have to be made at 37 sites in the state out of which eight have been approved. There are 16 such announcements for which master plans have to be prepared. The process of drafting the master plans is underway, informed the officials.

Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, secretary in-charge Surendra Narayan Pandey, Vinod Kumar Suman and other officials concerned were also present in the meeting.
