The Bharatiya Janata Party has welcomed chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s decision to create 1,750 posts of additional sub-inspector and 1,750 new posts of head constables. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that with this decision, the BJP government has fulfilled yet another promise made during the Vidhan Sabha elections. The government has for the first time created the rank of additional sub-inspector in Uttarakhand which will fulfill the long-standing demands of the police personnel, he said.

In his statement issued on Sunday, Bhatt said, “The sensitive government of the BJP has taken this demand in cognisance of the long-standing demand of police personnel regarding grade pay. During the Vidhan Sabha elections, the party had promised to resolve the issue. This promise has been fulfilled with the announcement made by the Dhami government.” Terming this a courageous decision of the CM, Bhatt said that for the first time in the State, 1,750 posts of ASI have been created with 4,200 grade pay. This will enable 1,650 head constables to get promoted to the rank of ASI while constables will get new opportunities to get promoted to the 3,500 posts of head constables. Bhatt thanked Dhami for this step on behalf of all party workers and people of Uttarakhand.
