Forest blaze: Haridwar DM warns against stubble burning

In latest news from Uttarakhand, in a stern warning to the farmers who indulge in stubble burning following wheat harvesting and torch wheat leaves, the Haridwar district magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal said that such practices trigger forest blaze and if anyone is found contributing to forest fire by indulging in such practices he will be booked under the relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act 2005 which entails punishment.

The DM directed the forest, revenue, police and agriculture departments to maintain maximum vigil on the ground to stop people from igniting forest blaze.
