78 dengue cases, one death reported in State on Saturday

The Health department reported 78 new cases of dengue and the death of one patient from the disease in the State on Saturday. The number of active cases of the vector-borne disease is now 326 while the cumulative number of deaths caused by it is 16 after the latest death reported from Nainital district.

According to the information provided by the department, the cumulative number of dengue cases in the State this season is 2,711 out of which 2,369 patients have recovered. Out of the 78 cases reported in the State on Saturday, 22 were reported from Pauri district, 13 from Bageshwar district, 12 from Dehradun district, nine each from Haridwar and Nainital districts, five from Chamoli and four each from Udham Singh Nagar and Rudraparyag districts. Out of the 16 deaths reported so far, 13 have occurred in Dehradun district and three in Nainital district. When it comes to the cumulative number of cases in the districts, Dehradun has remained on the top with 969 cases followed by Pauri district with 607 cases. Similarly, the cumulative number of cases in other districts is 447 in Haridwar, 423 in Nainital, 21 in Tehri, 85 in Udham Singh Nagar, 23 in Bageshwar, 57 in Chamoli, 45 in Champawat and 25 in Rudraprayag district. No cases of the disease have been reported so far in Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh districts.
