Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to the people of the State that they should buy local products in the festive season. He said that everyone should make an effort to move forward in the direction of ‘vocal for local’.
The CM was addressing a programme at Brahmpuri, Patelnagar here on Sunday. In the programme the CM and others listened to the 106th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat. The CM said that the Mann Ki Baat programme of the PM inspires everyone to move forward in his field. He said that under the leadership of PM Modi, the country has made considerable progress in the last nine years. The CM said that many public welfare schemes have been launched by the government which keep the poor and deprived at the center.
The CM listed Aysuhman Bharat Yojana, PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana, Har Ghar Jal Yojana, construction of toilets and opening of Jan Dhan bank accounts as some of the social welfare schemes of the government. He said that many works in the field of education and women empowerment are being done. The CM said that the State government is working to ensure that the people standing on the last rung of the social ladder get benefit of all the welfare schemes of the government.
He said that the special and consistent efforts are being made by the State government to give a fillip to the employment and self employment opportunities in the State. Dhami said that the global investors’ summit is being organised to provide more and better employment opportunities to the youth of the State. He said that memoranda of understanding worth Rs 65,000 crore have so far been signed for the global investors summit.
Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, chairman of the Uttarakhand Silk Federation Ajeet Singh and others were present on the occasion.
