Condemns violence by anarchist elements in Delhi

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat unfurled the national flag at the CM residence on Republic Day here on Tuesday. He also administered the oath of the constitution’s preamble to the officials, personnel and police personnel on the occasion.

Wishing the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion, Rawat wished for their happiness and prosperity. Rawat paid tributes to the freedom fighters remembering those who made the supreme sacrifice and worked for the unity of the nation. Speaking on the occasion, he said that India has emerged as a strong republic with the world viewing India today. He said that despite limited resources, Covid-19 was under considerable control in the nation and state. He said that the scientists had prepared the vaccine against Covid-19 in a considerably short time and that the nation is moving swiftly towards complete control on Covid. The country is on the path of progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added. Later, the CM also unfurled the national flag at the BJP State office. While attending another event on the occasion at Gandhi Park, the CM said that the scene created by some anarchist elements in the name of farmers in Delhi on Republic Day should not have happened. A farmer cannot indulge in such actions on such an occasion, he said, while adding that this type of an incident is a cause of concern for all. Rawat said that he respects the farmers who did not indulge in the rioting, adding that the State government is committed to ensure that such an incident does not take place in Uttarakhand. Stating that the genuine farmers have understood what had happened in Delhi, the CM said that there is no logic behind damaging government property in the manner seen in the national capital. Reiterating that the farm laws are fully in the interests of the farmers, Rawat stressed that the Central and State governments are committed to ensuring the welfare of farmers.
