Developing U’khand as per the dreams of martyrs- Dhami

The chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the development of Uttarakhand would be done as per the dream of the martyrs of the statehood movement and the government is working in this direction. He asserted that the problems associated with the statehood activists would be solved on the basis of priority. Dhami said this while paying homage to the martyrs at Rampur Tiraha in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. He said that the statehood activists would get the free medical facility in the government medical college hospitals similar to the government employees. Dhami announced that the statehood activists and their family members would be given employment in the industrial units on priority basis.

Paying rich tributes to the martyrs, the CM said that the state of Uttarakhand owes its genesis to the sacrifice made by the activists. He said that lakhs participated in the statehood movement at places like Khatima, Mussoorie and Muzaffarnagar and many lost their lives.  Dhami said that on September 1,2021 he had declared that the process of identification of the statehood activists would be restarted and the Government Order (GO) for it has been released. On a firm note the CM said that every announcement made by the government would be put on the ground. Dhami said that he in his first cabinet meeting had decided that all the vacant 24000 posts in different departments of the government would be filled and the recruitment process has started. He said that camps in every district are being organised to link the youth with self employment. Highlighting the achievements of his government Dhami said that a relief package of Rs 200 Crore and Rs 118 Crore was released for businessmen and self help groups and the state government has made 207 diagnostic tests free in the government hospitals.

He added that the state government has taken the responsibility of the children rendered orphaned during the pandemic period.

Earlier in the day, CM Dhami also offered his tributes to the statehood activists at Martyrs’ memorial in Katchari in Dehradun. Here he said the GO for giving a pension of Rs 3100 per month to the wife or husband of the statehood activist after his/her death has been released.  The union minister of state for defence Ajay Bhatt, Union minister and Muzaffarnagar MP Sanjeev Baliyan, Uttarakhand minister Swami Yatishwaranand, BJP State chief Madan Kaushik and others were present on the occasion.
