BJP using polarisation ploy to hide its failures: Dhasmana

The Uttarakhand vice president of Congress Suryakant Dhasmana has said that the BJP is playing the game of polarisation because it has nothing to show to the people of Uttarakhand as its achievements. Interacting with the media persons here on Saturday he said that BJP has been in power in Uttarakhand for more than six years now but it has got no account of the promises made by it to the people of the State. “It now has only one weapon left in its armoury and that is religious polarisation so issues such as land Jihad and love Jihad are deliberately being created,’’ he said. “If any Jihad is going on in the State then what are our intelligence agencies doing? Why no action is being taken against them,’’ he questioned.

Reacting strongly to the statement given by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Kedarnath on demographic change, the Congress leader said that the BJP government led by Trivendra Singh Rawat is responsible for this change. He said that the Congress government of Narayan Dutt Tiwari had imposed a ban on purchase of land by outsiders in the State by bringing a strong land law. Dhasmana said that the Trivendra Singh Rawat government took the refuge of the investor’s summit to provide relaxation in the laws for purchasing land to outsiders. It also gave relaxation in norms for change in land use.  Dhasmana said that the Dhami government went a step further to allow land use for any activity after which most of the agricultural land was purchased by rich people from outside the state. They are now making resorts and places of their personal recreation and have employed outsiders and this is bringing demographic changes, he claimed. Dhasmana said that CM should encourage the people of his party to exercise restraint and not let Uttarakhand become another Manipur.
