A student of B A final year at DAV (PG) College and cadet of 29 UK Battalion NCC, Virendra Singh Samant who had scaled the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, was felicitated at a programme organised in the premises of his college. Lauding the student’s achievement, the principal of the college, Kaushal Kumar said that he had achieved the feat by dint of hard work, discipline and determination.
Samant narrated how he had to grapple with bone-chilling cold, lack of oxygen and snowstorms.
A large number of students and NCC cadets was present at the programme.
