Two people died and two others sustained injuries after a car they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Pithoragarh on Wednesday. The officials said that the victims were going to Pithoragarh’s Munsyari from Haldwani to attend a wedding when the car fell into a gorge in Pithoragarh’s Seraghat near Rampur. The deceased have been identified as Ganga Singh (38), a resident of Rudrapur’s Dineshpur and his grandmother Tulsi Devi (60). The injured include Puran Singh and Gopal Singh. The officials said that the police reached the spot after getting information about the accident and rescued the victims with the help of villagers. However, two people were found dead on the spot and the remaining two were sent for treatment.
