New enrollment campaign launched in Govt schools

Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat inaugurated the ‘Praveshutsav’ under the School Chalo Abhiyan in the government schools of the State on Monday. 

Under the campaign, new students will be admitted in the government schools and stress will be laid on 100 per cent enrolment and retention of the existing students in the government schools.

Inaugurating the campaign from the Government Inter College Ranipokhari, Dehradun, Rawat said that efforts to increase student enrollment will be made in the campaign. He said that the endeavour of the State government is to provide the best environment for education in the State. Rawat said that the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 has been implemented in the State and the schools are being provided better facilities.

The minister averred that free textbooks are being provided in all government schools and under the provisions of NEP-2020, focus on digitisation of schools is being made. 

Facilities such as smart classes, virtual class, Atal Tinkering lab and modern laboratories are being provided in the schools. The minister said that the government is also focussing on removing the shortage of teachers by making new appointments.

 The minister said that responsibilities have been assigned to the officers of the department and teachers for the success of the campaign.

 In the programme, the minister welcomed 23 newly admitted students and distributed textbooks to them.

Dehradun : The School Education department has enrolled 80,771 new students in the government schools of the State in the new academic session.

The Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said the enrolment of the new students has been done in classes I, VI and IX.  

 In Almora district 6,476 , Pithoragarh 5,582 Bageshwar 3,386, Udham Singh Nagar 3,426, Nainital 6,265, Champawat 3,688, Chamoli 5,330, Uttarkashi 5,122, Rudraprayag 4,527, Pauri 6,820, Dehradun 13,613, Haridwar 9,288 and Tehri 7,248 new students were enrolled.
