Covid-19 count mounts to 85853 in U’khand

Nine deaths, 584 new patients reported on Saturday

The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Uttarakhand climbed to 85853 on Saturday with the state health department reporting 584 fresh cases of the disease. The authorities also reported the death of nine patients of the disease on the day after which the death toll mounted to 1408 in the state. The health department discharged 556 patients from different hospitals on the day. A total of 77326 patients have recovered from the disease so far in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 90.07 and the sample positivity rate is 5.36 percent.

Two patients of the disease were reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Saturday.  A similar number of patients expired at Velmed hospital Dehradun and Himalayan hospital Dehradun on the day. One patient each was reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Neelkanth Multispecialty hospital Haldwani and Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun on Saturday.

Out of the 556 patients discharged on the day 237 were from Dehradun, 60 from Nainital and 42 each from Pithoragarh and Haridwar respectively.

Provisional state capital Dehradun has been the worst affected. The authorities reported 199 new cases of the disease here on Saturday. The department reported 125 patients from Nainital, 40 from Udham Singh Nagar, 35 each from Tehri and Pauri, 33 from Uttarkashi, 29 from Haridwar, 18 from Almora, 18 each from Rudraprayag and Champawat, 15 from Pithoragarh, 14 from Chamoli and five from Bageshwar on Saturday.

Uttarakhand now has 6074 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at continuing to remain at top of the table of active cases with 1624 cases while with 1153 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 460 active cases. Pithoragarh has 448, Chamoli 315, Almora 349, Pauri 346, Tehri 324, Uttarkashi 290, Udham Singh Nagar 268, Bageshwar 170 and Rudraprayag 164 active cases of the disease. With 163 active cases of Covid-19, Champawat is now at the bottom of the table of active cases of Covid-19.
