Covid-19 contagion contained in Uttarakhand

Four deaths, only 271 new cases reported on Wednesday

The state health department reported the death of four patients from Covid 19 in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. It also detected 271 new cases of the disease in the state on the day. The active case count in the state has now reduced to 4043 with the recovery of 1422 cases on Wednesday which clearly shows that the contagion has more or less been contained in the state.

The department has so far detected 89,237 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 82,117 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 246 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 92.02 per cent on Wednesday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 1.75 per cent on the day.  

The authorities reported the death of two patients at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Tuesday. Similarly one patient each died at  All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Military Hospital Dehradun on the day.

 The health department reported 147 new patients from Dehradun, 24 from Haridwar and 22 from Nainital on Wednesday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 4,043.  Dehradun with 1,752 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 605 active cases of the disease. Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table with 24 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 17,315 people were vaccinated in 1109 sessions in the state held on Wednesday.
