Covid-19 cases continue to mount in U’khand

Active case count rises to 515; positivity rate jumps to 6.95%

The cases of the Covid-19 in Uttarakhand are continuing to increase. The state health department reported 115 new cases of the disease from different parts of Uttarakhand on Friday. Death of no patient was reported in the state on the day.  The authorities also declared 53 patients cured from the disease on the day.  The department has so far detected 94,530 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 90,375 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 283 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 95.60 per cent. The positivity rate of the disease jumped to 6.95 per cent on the day which is a worrying factor.   

 The health department reported 79 new patients from Dehradun, 13 from Haridwar, 11 from Udham Singh Nagar, seven from Nainital, two from Uttarkashi and one each from Almora, Chamoli and Tehri on Friday.  No new cases were reported from Bageshwar, Champawat, Pauri, Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag districts on the day. 

The number of active patients of Covid-19 was at 515 on Friday. Dehradun with 352 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital 52 and Haridwar 50 active cases of the disease. Bageshwar, Champawat and Rudraprayag districts have no active cases of the disease now.

 In the ongoing vaccination drive 19,846 people were vaccinated in 874 sessions in the state held on Friday.
