More than 14 lakh people register to visit Char Dham & Hemkund

More than 14 lakh people have registered for the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand so far. According to the information provided by the Tourism department 2,39,167 people have registered to visit Yamunotri, 2,58,456 have registered for Gangotri, 4,79,551 have registered for Kedarnath, 4,02,517 for Badrinath. Further, 20,997 people have registered to visit Hemkund Sahib. As on Tuesday evening, a total of 14,00,688 people had registered to visit the Char Dham shrines and Hemkund Sahib.

The department officials further informed that out of the people who have registered for the pilgrimage so far, 10,93,488 registered through the web portal, 1,87,481 registered through the mobile phone application and 1,19,719 registered through WhatsApp.

It is pertinent to mention here that more than 50 lakh pilgrims had visited the Char Dham shrines in the State last year. About 5.18 lakh people had visited the Char Dham during 2021 with the number being low that year due to the pilgrimage being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of pilgrims rose to 46.27 lakh in 2022 and in 2023 more than 50 lakh visited the Char Dham shrines. The authorities are expecting that a higher number of people will visit the Char Dham shrines this year.
