Ex- CM carried away in ambulance after fainting during protest

The leaders of Uttarakhand Congress held a protest in Dehradun on Friday in support of the agitation of the unemployed youngsters. The workers of the party led by former chief minister Harish Rawat and the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara held a protest outside the police headquarters on Friday. The protesting leaders of the party courted arrest during which former CM Rawat fainted. He regained consciousness after some time. Rawat who is suffering from a sprain in neck and spine was taken by the police in an ambulance. The Congress leaders and workers were later released. In a message Rawat said that youths were lathi charged every time BJP came to power. He said that the youngsters were only demanding that the examination system should be transparent, fair and vacant posts should be filled. He said that brutal force was used in the dark of the night on the unemployed who were staging a peaceful protest in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

 Earlier on the day the senior leaders of the Congress party also supported the hunger strike of the Youth Congress leader Vikas Negi at Congress headquarters.
