The former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh stressed the need of the Congress party for hitting the roads of the State to expose the failure of the BJP government of Uttarakhand. Interacting with The Pioneer on Wednesday, the MLA from Chakrata said that the Pushkar Singh Dhami government is raking up issues such as Land Jihad, Love Jihad and Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to divert the attention of the general public. He said that time has come to call the bluff of the government and for it the workers of the Congress party should go to the people of the State.

Singh said that the allegation of a scam in the Kedarnath gold plating work has offended the people of the State and it should be investigated.  When asked to comment on the speculations that he might join the BJP in near future, Singh denied any such possibility and said that there is no substance in the rumours.  He said that the people of the State have understood the designs of the BJP.

Singh added that the people are reeling under unprecedented increase in the prices and the cooking gas cylinder is now costing more than Rs 1200. The law and order condition in the State is deteriorating and the people are demanding justice for the family of Ankita Bhandari.

Terming the exercise undertaken by Uttarakhand government on UCC as futile, Singh said that the Union government has made it clear that it would table the UCC bill during the upcoming Monsoon session of the Parliament which means the UCC of Uttarakhand would become redundant.
