Cold day condition alert issued for the plains

An alert has been issued regarding the possibility of cold day conditions in the plains. The State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of dense to very dense fog likely to occur in some parts of plains especially in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts on Tuesday. Cold day conditions are likely to occur at isolated places in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 23. 2 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 19.6 degrees Celsius and 4.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13.1 degrees Celsius and 3.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 15.8 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. The higher reaches including Kedarnath and Badrinath have been experiencing sub zero temperatures though no significant snowfall has been experienced in these areas so far.
