Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the Kalash Yatra to Ayodhya from Har Ki Paidi in Haridwar on Monday. Amid chanting of mantras and other rituals the priests collected the water of river Ganga in the pots (Kalash) from the brahmakund.
The Yatra will carry the water of Ganga for the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya on January 22. Flower petals were showered by a helicopter on the Kalash Yatra.
The president of Akhada Parishad and Mansa Devi trust Mahant Ravindrapuri, Swami Lalitanand Giri, Swami Harichetnanand, Swami Ravipuri, MLAs Madan Kaushik, Pradeep Batra, Adesh Chauhan and others were present on the occasion.
