CM Dhami visits disaster affected areas

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami toured the disaster-affected areas of the state on Tuesday. The CM conducted an aerial inspection of the areas worst hit by the heavy rains and directed the authorities to undertake all necessary steps to save the lives of the people.

The CM visited affected areas of Rudraprayag, Nainital, Haldwani and Rudrapur on the day. He said that the rains have caused widespread damage in different parts of the state. Dhami said that standing crops have been damaged in different parts of the state and added that the government is assessing the damage caused to the farmers. Earlier in the day the CM visited the state disaster control room located at the state secretariat and took stock of the situation.  In an order to the district magistrates (DM), Dhami said that the affected people should be provided the compensation as per the norms without any delay. He also asked the DM to conduct an assessment of the damage to the crops. Dhami said that three choppers of the Army are being pressed into service in the worst affected areas.

The CM directed the DMs of Chamoli and Rudraprayag district to ensure safety of pilgrims stranded on the Yatra route. The additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, Additional Principal secretary Abhinav Kumar, secretary disaster management S A Murugeshan and other senior officers were present with the CM.
