Continuing with his approach of meeting senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party after the end of polling in Uttarakhand, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called upon his predecessor Tirath Singh Rawat at the residence of the latter on Saturday. The two leaders held a long one to one meeting and discussed many issues. The performance of the party in the recently held polls was discussed in detail by the two. Emerging out of the meeting Dhami said that Rawat is his senior and since his (Dhami’s) early days Rawat has supported him. Former CM Tirath Singh Rawat said that discussions do take place in a family and he is confident that BJP will win the Assembly election with a two third majority. He even predicted that Dhami will continue to lead the state for the next 15 years.

It is pertinent to mention here that CM Dhami had recently met former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat at the Defence Colony residence of the latter. Dhami has also held meetings with president of state unit of BJP Madan Kaushik and other BJP leaders. In the political circles these meetings are being viewed as an attempt by CM Dhami to consolidate his position within the party after the results of the Assembly elections are declared.
